ABA
ABA Grinding Technologies GmbH ist located in Aschaffenburg, Bavaria (Germany) and produces high-precision profile, full face and flat grinding machines. Belonging to Autania Grinding Technologies, which in turn belongs to the Dr. Helmut Rothenberger Group, ABA is a leader in the CNC profile grinding technology.
The history of the company ABA grinding technologies GmbH
Established in 1898, the initial company was named Messwerkzeugfabrik Alig & Baumgärtel Aschaffenburg (ABA). The company's focus was the production of thread rolling dies and measuring tools and soon it added the manufacture of grinding machines for high-precision to its portfolio. Since 1933 ABA has concerned itself primarily with advancements in the manufacture of high-precision surface and profile grinding machines which led to a change in its name to Schleifmaschinenfabrik ABA GmbH. In 2002 the company merged with z&b Werkzeugmaschinenfabrik GmbH to form the collective ABA z&b Schleifmaschinen GmbH. As part of the development following this merger ABA was absorbed by the Autania group in August 2010 and its name changed at that point to ABA grinding technologies GmbH. When the Autania group took over ABA, the company had 50 experienced employees. With its long tradition in grinding technology ABA does not only serve a variety of different industry sectors, but also has sales offices all around the world.
Main Products
ABA produces approximately 100 machines every year and provides its customers with an extensive product range. Its main products are bridge style grinding machines and rotary table grinding machines. As a manufacturer of high-precision machines for demanding tool making and for the engineering industry ABA produces cost-effective base models as well as complex machines and custom made products. Among others, ABA products are used in the molding industry, the aerospace industry and the automobile industry.
