About CASTOLIN

CASTOLIN was founded by Jean-Pierre Wasserman in the city of Lausanne, Switzerland in 1906. The company pioneered the brazing of cast iron at low temperatures, a process which completely revolutionised the protection and repair of metals. In these early days, CASTOLIN also developed brazing alloys, fluxes and cast-iron repair techniques, gradually developing a reputation for innovation which continues to the present day.

During the forties, EUTECTIC CASTOLIN Ltd. expanded internationally, opening new facilities in New York, London and Milan. The evolvement of CASTOLIN into a truly global corporation continued at a pace and now the company has a presence in over 100 countries, spanning all five continents. CASTOLIN employs in excess of 1500 people worldwide.

In the year 2000, the Wasserman family sold CASTOLIN to private investors and the company became part of the MEC HOLDING group. Five years later, the Messer family became majority shareholders and the group was renamed MESSER WORLD. CASTOLIN remains a vital part of MESSER WORLD and continues to adhere to its long-standing working philosophies of quality, service and technical leadership.
